mac photo software recommendation?

Guys, doubt if this is the right place to post....
I just got my new mac and love it!
Now i'd like to have some ideas on what great software you use on mac?
Recommendation includes mac photo software such as photo editing and photo management, media player, video and audio editing software.

I love to do photography and there are thousands of photos in my old pc.... any idea how to transfer them quickly from pc to mac?

I've been using Capture NX almost exclusively these days. I think the RAW conversion is better and I get more pleasing results than I ever did with Adobe. Still keep Photoshop around just in case.

As far as transferring, just set up a network share on your PC, connect the Mac to it, and copy away....

Try Pixelmator from the app store it's generally $30 but is only $15 till the end of May.
It will allow you to work on RAW files and has layers ability. It's not Photoshop but will do what the vase majority of photograhers want to do.
Combine Piixelmator with Lightroom on a Mac and you really don't need anything else (except Nik plug ins)
