    SDHC Class 4 or 6?

    I have a Panasonic FZ35 and looking to pick up a new memory card and the manual states that a class 6 is the card to go with. I've seen decent/comparable prices on the Sandisk Ultra 16gb class 4's and the Transcend 16gb Class 6's. My questions are, Is there a big difference between the two classes (4 vice 6) and how reputable is Transcend (i've honestly never heard of them)? Is Sandisk a better/worse product?

    Will primarily be using the camera for casual photos and some HD video.

    Thanks!

    There is enough difference between the classes to use Class 6, but faster than Class 6 probably will not be of any benefit.

    Either brand is fine.

    The Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD Cards, defined by the SD Association. It is equal to 8 Mbit/s, and it measures the minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied"

    The following are the ratings of some currently available cards:

    * Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MB/s)
    * Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MB/s)
    * Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MB/s)
    * Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MB/s)
    I will use Class 10 in my Video camera I think my Nikon Cool Pix s4000 has a class 6 in it.

    Check your manual and go with what they suggest
