    Question OK, time's up. Which one of you a3xx jockeys bought an a5xx?

    Yep, the wait is somewhat over, as the α500 reaches distribution.

    The question now becomes:

    Who of you is:
    1. buying one;
    2. bought one;
    3. has decided Christmas is still too far off to make such a hasty decision?

    Using the excuse ... "Honey ... the α300 was a good beginner camera, but this α550 is just the cat's meow."

    Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
    Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

    I don't see a ton of people going from the A3xx to the A5xx. You are either just getting a DSLR without serious intentions and not looking to upgrade, or you are going to jump on the A700 since it is currently cheaper than the A550.

    There will be some exceptions, people who like smaller size or live view, but I think most of the A5xx buyers will be first time buyers, the same group that bought the A350 in the past.
