    Canon DSLR lens compatibility

I am buying a Canon XT and would like suggestions for lenses that are compatible with this camera. I will be doing nature and wild life pictures as well as the usual everyday pictures. Thanks for your help.

Check out this thread. If your camera comes with the "IS" version of the 18-55 kit lens, you are pretty well set up for what we might consider "normal" circumstances. Otherwise, you might consider upgrading the kit lens to a cheap tamron 17-50 f2.8. Canon makes a nice 55-250 IS lens that is a good budget lens. The 50mm f1.8 is dirt cheap and very sharp, a great introduction to the joys of fast, sharp primes.

If you want to spend more money, any canon "L" lens is stellar, though since you are getting the XT you probably want to save money. A very nice expensive kit would be the canon 17-55 f2.8 IS lens, with one of canon's 70-200 L's, perhaps either the f4 IS, or the f2.8 IS.

Rex's posts have much more information, enjoy.
