    Night and sun light photography

Hi, I'm new here so this is my fisrt post

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ30 camara and want to take some really nice night shots and sunshine shots but am not doing very good.

If I use one of the night settings with a tripod and remote shutter control I get clear pictures but if there is any light source it appears as a glare. Also if for example I take a picture at night of a church steeple it come out almost sepia like with the sky much much brighter than it is?

I also would like to take a picture of bright sunlight shots, similar to the Discopolis music video current on the music channels, but realise I need a fileter of some sort but all I seem to find are lenses and not filters?

Can anyone point me in the right directs and/or give me some tips please?

Welcome to the forum. You will probably get more replies and help if you posted the question in the Panasonic forum here....

You posted in the Panasonic DSLR forum(which doesnt get much action). The FZ30 is an unltra zoom P&S.

Good luck to you and once again, welcome to the forums!
