    Sigma 17-70 and 70-300 - First Pictures

Today the Sigma 17-70 and 70-300 have been delivered. I have been trying the lenses all afternoon and evening, and I am very happy with both lenses. The lenses focus fast and most of the time accurate, though at first it startled me that they are a lot more noisy than the kitlens. The Sigma 70-300 is not always that sharp, but considering the price I cannot complain about that. Besides, I can make the images quite a bit sharper in post processing.

Here are some pictures I took with the Sigma 17-70:

And some pictures I took with the Sigma 70-300:

They seem to be nice lenses, and nice colour too... I guess you have a D50? that 17-70 looks to be a very nice lens, especially for that money.

Yes, I am using a Nikon D-50. I always shoot in raw, and usualy change the raw settings and whitebalance in Nikon Capture, so the colours may not be as they would have been straight out of the camera.
Anyway, after three days of shooting with the lenses, I am still very happy with both of them. I will post many more shots taken with the lenses in the photogallery in the next couple of weeks.
