View Full Version : studio color for jewelry photography

I have recently started photographing jewelry professionally, and have been having issues with the reflections in the highly polished pieces. My studio is currently black, and I have been getting large black reflections in the metal, which will be a pain to remove in photoshop. I was thinking that a white or medium gray studio may be better for this type of work (although I will also be using the studio to photograph jewelry with gemstones that I need to be able to make sparkle). What have other people found to work? I considered getting a diffusion tent, but prefer to have more control over my light than that. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Autumn
