View Full Version : SD UltraII for pix/video in the snow?

Just purchased an S2. Now I want a faster card. I'm thinking 1-2 GB. I spend alot of winter weekends at the ski resorts and want to take pix and video of the kids in action. Does anyone have experience with using the SD Ultra II in tahoe winter conditions? Also, if the card can slow down in colder temps, doesn't that mean that the camera may slow down as well? Should I consider extreme or extreme III cards, and maybe getting a second job?

Cards slowing down in cold temps? I've never heard of this. I used my Sandisk regular card with my SD300 all winter skiing and hiking, and had absolutely no problems. I think this is a non-issue.

Is there any evidence that the S2 can take advantage of the Ultra-II or the Ultra-III? There may well be, I just haven't seen it yet.

The only impact the cold will have is with a significantly reduced battery life, that and possibly less sensor noise.
