View Full Version : Macro Mode Advice For A95 Novice

I'm trying to create good macro shots under the "M" settings, but have only done the opposite. :(

I've tried taking one of a willow [out-doors] and it was out of focus. I tried taking one of my mom's roses [in-doors] on her dresser and they were too washed out by the flash. I don't know if the numbers on the left of the lcd mean the distance to aim away from [I'm guessing] the subject or what the numbers on the right represent.

What settings should I use for good shots?

Thank you.

"M" setting is usually for Manual Focus, you want to look for the MF button, with a small flower on it. try raising your ISO indoors, do some research on your other settings, theres a lot you can do with that camera. hope this helps :)

keep in mind that shake is really realy imporant. as you go in closer, the effects of slight movements get magnified. use a flash or a tripod. if you use AF, the camera may try to act stupid and focus exactyl where you don't want it to. watch out!
