I have a casio qv-R40 for just more than a year. Suddenly, when I hit power on button, the shutter does not open and lens could not extend from the camera body. I can still review saved photos. What is the problem and how to repair it?

I've been repairing CASIO Cameras for many years and have literally repaired a thousand cameras as a CASIO Authorized Warranty Service Tech.
The problem you're experiencing is somewhat common. The lens unit can become damaged if it's opened while in your pocket, or in a case etc. This usually happens without the user's knowledge and appears to be a mysterious development. Basically, what happens is the lens gets jammed and the servo motors smoke.
Fortunately this problem is correctable by replacing the lens unit. The lens unit is available from CASIO but I don't suggest you replace it yourself unless you are an experienced electronics technician.
