View Full Version : Stylus 500 monitor only?

I recently purchased a digital Oly Stylus 500. I thought it was the answer to my fishing camera dreams. High rez, small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, weather and impact resistent.

At first, the moniter only system for framing the photo worked fine. But now that the days are much brighter, I have a very difficult time seeing the monitor image -- no matter where I set the brightness control.

Does anyone else who owns the camera have the same problem seeing the monitor in bright light? Is there a solution?

They make hoods for LCD's, but that sort of ruins the portability factor. I do not know of a specific hood for the Stylus 500, but a Google Search might turn something up.
So many nice looking cameras are coming out without viewfinders these days. Makes no sense to me.
Good Luck,
