View Full Version : Indoor shots

I'm accompanying my daughter's class to the art museum and wanted to try to get some shots of her and her friends. It's indoors - any tips on which setting would be the most appropriate and what to do to help ensure the best pics?

I have a Canon S1 IS. THANKS :)

Will you be using flash, or will these be existing light photos? Keep in mind that the flash on the Canon S-1 is a bit week, so if the distance from camera to the subjects gets to about 15 feet, it will be best to increase the ISO to 200 or 400.

Also keep in mind that the S-1 does not focus rapidly in lower light.

If the museum does not allow the use of flash, then I would increase ISO as above, and then shoot in aperture priority mode using the widest aperture you can. This will force the camera to use the highest shutter speed possible, which you will need when photographing the kids.
