I took this photo a few days ago. It's the first flower close up I have ever done. It's not that great but I thought I'd post it anyway...

Taken with Kodak dx6490, flash on, macro mode, I dont remember all the settings..sorry... This was also cropped but not enhanced. The flower was about the size of a quarter.

Very nice...I like it. Been messing around with flower close-ups myself the past day or two.

Yes, it's a dandelion..lol...It slipped my mind when I posted this...I guess it's okay for my first flower photo. I could have gotten closer or zoomed in more. This is not a professional camera so I can't get it to look as good as I want. :)

That's very pretty. I am assuming you have a dslr... I dont. :D

I'd like to get one when I learn more.

No, i don't have a dslr, just a sony dsv-V3 (you could see EXIF data). Don't hesitate to zoom in macro mode and to fix manualy the focus to the minimum distance (0,1m in my case).

really? that's a great photo...

I am still learning the different modes and zooming in...there are so many settings that sometimes I forget to change them. :) I think that is my biggest mistake right now..forgetting to change settings for different scenes.

How do I know what my min. distance is? I have a Kodak dx6490.

Another great photo with a non dslr

maybe I should have bought one of those two digi cams instead ( I think they are actually cheaper than what I bought ) ... :)

or maybe it's just me not knowing what to do right now... ;)

Interresting !
Why have you used a shutter speed priority mode and not an aperture priority mode ? Is The shutter speed priority mode more appropriate for this kind of photo ?

No keep your camera. The dx6490 seems to have a very good macro mode.
Just zoom on the subject !
