I checked out the gallery. Very nice pics.

However, did you get any turtle pics?

I checked out the gallery. Very nice pics.

However, did you get any turtle pics?I have a few more galleries left up my sleeve, including a bunch of Tortoises. Also some Dolphins, Penguins, Crabs, Iguanas, Lizards.... It takes awhile to cull through all these shots, but it's like re-living the trip, so it's fun to do, I must admit! Thanks for your comments.

the last one of the birds cuddling is cute. I was surprised to see the bird blowup like a bagpipe. :D

I couldn't access the gallery; or rather, when I did access it, all the pages indicated a square where the photo should be and the words saying "photo not found." I tried this on my computers both at home and work, with the same result.

Me too ... click the gallery name: Galąpagos Nesting Birds in his album and it'll work.

Sorry about that. A rare occurrence. I must've dropped a character off the URL when pasting it.

Thanks, was able to view the gallery. Stunning photos, all of them. I am curious to know how close you actually were to the birds, or how much zoom you used to get such wonderful close-up shots. And were these hand-held, or were you using any sort of monopod or tripod for stabilization?

And were these hand-held, or were you using any sort of monopod or tripod for stabilization? Most of the shots (with the exception of the Frigate bird with his wings fully extended, about 7 feet wide!) were at or near full zoom, which is 420mm for my FZ15, and with the Canon TL-55 lens extender, I think that works out to about 588mm equivalent total focal length. They were all hand-held, at distances from 10-30 feet or so, hard to guess any closer than that. I took a mini-tripod along with me on my trip, but I never got it out of the suitcase.
