View Full Version : Definition of low light

I keep hearing abt low light performance being an issue with this camera. Could s/one help me out and define a low light situation? My lowest light circumstance would either be inside at night with moderate household lighting or outside say a building with street type lighting.

Thanx all

if you can't get a good exposure without flash with f/4 then it is low light.
f/2.8 should be the start of low light/available light lenses.
f/3.5-2.8 is pushing it, but if you have high ISO capabilities, then low light with f/3.5-2.8 isn't really a problem.

in my bedroom with 3 tungsten bulbs and f/2.8, 1/80 is kinda dark.
so that would classify as low light for me.
but this is at ISO200. If I were to bump it up to ISO 1600 then that would definetly be a non-issue.
