I just got a optex circular polarizer for my A200, but I find that the frame of the filter appear on the corner of the image in wideangle end(check the attached image). Is this normal for filter not specially design for wideangle use?

Thanks

Since no one has replied yet with their personal experience, I'll chime in to point out page 162 of the instruction manual that came with my A200:

"Polarizing filters and close up-lenses may cause vignetting at the wide angle range of the lens (below the 50mm mark on the zoom ring)."

It goes on to say that most step-up rings will cause vignetting, and to suggest the Minolta 49-62mm step-up adapter. The best thing to do, imho, is to try it out in a camera shop if you can.

Read somewhere the the Hoya Super Pro1 series doesn't have any vignetting issues.
