Hey,

Here's a sunset shot from Nova Scotia. Shot with Finepix 3800, 1/125 @ f/2.8. Comments welcome! (Yes I know it's crooked, I can never seem to hold cameras this small straight! BTW, can anyone tell me how to correct this, I only have Gimp 2.0 software)

I love light houses. This one looks fine to me. If you are really worried about levelness you can use the rotate canvas command in photoshop. Choose arbitary and select and angle you want. You can also use clone stamp to mask blemishes.

Hey,

Thanks for your quick reply! I just noticed those blemishes when I posted the photograph (1 more thing i gotta fix!) But that's the great thing about digital isn't it! :D Since you like lighthouses so much, I've attatched another photo of a completely different lighthouse also in Nova Scotia. This one shot at 1/350 @ f/2.8. As always, comments welcome!

This one looks great. Which part of the world is Nova Scotia?

Hey,

Nova Scotia is a province (I think) of Canada, and it's just northeast of Maine. It's extremely beautiful and the landscapes just scream to be photographed! If I had more money I would definitely move up there. A map can be seen here. (http://www.gulfofmaine.org/library/debris/fig1.gif)

Very nice picture. Can you identify where in N.S.? I have a good freind that built a house up there (somewhere) and plans to retire there eventually.

Maybe we can add this to the lighthouse collection (if Jeff gives us the go ahead to start a lighthouse thread. :) I won't repost but if you check the Point Pinos Lighthouse thread we have a couple from the left-coast of North America.

Hey,

I was in Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia which is on the eastern side of Nova Scotia. If you want to learn more, a map and other info is provided here (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lethsd.ab.ca/mmh/grade2/commcanada/images/peggy.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.lethsd.ab.ca/mmh/grade2/commcanada/peggyscove.htm&h=250&w=400&sz=11&tbnid=K3OUSPLSH7wJ:&tbnh=75&tbnw=120&start=4&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpeggy%2527s%2Bcove%2Bmap%26hl%3Den%26 lr%3D) I would definitely contribute to that lighthouse thread. Also, I don't blame your friend for wanting to retire there, it is amazing, especially if you don't mind the cool summers which I don't. Thanks for your reply.
