I'm agree. The megapixel "war" has gone too far and been a distraction from what makes a good camera system. Any thoughts? I'm satisfied with my Olympus camera setup.

"Twelve megapixels is, I think, enough for covering most applications most customers need," said Akira Watanabe, manager of Olympus Imaging's SLR planning department, in an interview here at the Photo Marketing Association PMA. "We have no intention to compete in the megapixel wars for E-System," Olympus' line of SLR cameras, he said.

Personally, I'm pretty happy with "just" 10 megapixels in my E-410 and 510. If Oly can give us 12 megapixels WITHOUT making the noise even worse at high ISO, I'm ok with that. But I'd much rather see Oly spending its R&D budget on making the 4/3 sensor better for low light usage than increasing megapixels. Unfortunately, the term megapixels tends to be a pretty good marketing pitch.
