Quick one...how do you know what lenses are full frame for Canon?

I am helping my brother get a lens for his 5D and I have no idea whats full frame and whats not!

He is looking for something in the range 50-100mm (that does not exist).

any ideas?

Canon Lens meant for full frame have a EF mount...and for that range you can get a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 USM L IS or a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 USM IS

EF would be full frame and EF-S would be crop lenses.

Canon brand lenses: EF is for full-frame. EF-S is crop only.
Sigma brand lenses: DG is full-frame. DC is crop only.

(And of course, EF lenses will also fit onto crop bodies)

Not sure about other brands.

Edit: Ack, looks like everyone types faster than me.

Avoid the following in the lens name:

Canon: EF-S (just EF is safe)
Sigma: DC
Tamron: Di II (just Di is safe)
Tokina: DX
