We've had a crazy cold Winter here this year, so our recent trip to Mexico (Cabo) was much enjoyed. What a great place for photography - here are a few....

Wonderful shots!! In #3 did you do something in PP to get the yellow tinge like that?
I really like the abstractness of #6 Patterns in the sand. Never would have guessed what it was.
Looks like a good vacation in the warmth. Hey, it's gonna hit 50 this weekend.

Thanks Mark. #3 was shot just after sunrise (the sun is behind that rock); all I did was increase vibrance and sat a bit in LR - it really was that color!

Looking forward to the weather here this weekend! Its been a killer Winter or maybe I'm just getting old. ;)

Quite nice. 5,7 and 8. The colors in your shots really evoke some emotion which is my first "I like it" criterion.

Thanks Viky, a trip like this makes it easier to be imanginative - I'm still picking sand out of my gear though. :(

Jamaica, nice. On the off chance I end up getting nicer shots then you, you can rest assured that you got paid much better then I will! ;)

What, you mean people pay for stuff like this? Hell I've been doing it for alcohol and bridesmaids and/or single MOBs.

Lesson learned: Beach sand and tripods = questionable stability. About halfway though a long exposure on this shot.... I watched (as if in slow-mo) as my 5D and 24-105 took a nosedive into the sand. Somehow it got into my camera bag as well; damn stuff is everywhere. It was worth it though. ;)

Amazing shots Michael. I've been thinking about getting that 8 stop ND, how is it to use? Do you focus before putting it on? Love the misty water look.

yea, I only took the 5d on this trip. There are times when I would have liked to have the 40D with me, but my wife wasn't too keen on bring both cameras. ;)

Thanks. Even in bright sunlight its like looking through the VF at night with that filter on! You really have to compose, focus and then put the filter on and take the shot - its it a bit of a pain, but really cool to use; great for seascapes.

Here's another one with that filter....25 sec...
