Looks like I might be spending that money to get one of these puppies instead...

Any suggestions for photoediting software for OSX? I've only used Photoshop and CaptureNX2 within Windows, but I've heard of Lightroom and Aperture on OSX.

I use Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 on my intel macbook. But if you ask me, your money would be better spent on glass. I only use my notebook to edit images when I absolutely must do it. I prefer my desktop for 98% of my work.

Wow...just wow. Reading Mac geeks go nuts over a new casing style almost made me throw up a little...sorry guys, had to close the tab before I got too sick.

Just think, if you buy that notebook, when you purchase the replacement, think to yourself, "Man, I'd still be using that 14-24 or 70-200 right now and be happy and not looking to upgrade it."

Yes but you are conveniently forgetting that Nikon are rumoured to be releasing a new 70-200 shortly and we all know the NAS never sleeps. ;);)

Thats what I am waiting on, I need the 70-200 VR soon, but would hate to buy it then have an upgrade be released shortly after.. So here I sit.. waiting...

I wish there were more info on the new version!

Or even worse, I wouldn't mind buying the current version but I don't want to because I could probably buy a used one for a song once the new one is announced.

i doubt it. the vast majority of nikon bodies are DX and the 70-200 performs brilliantly on those. heres to hoping though !! lol

I assume their Oct 14th announcement will include more than just a new case (reason for all the fanboys to be excited), but who knows.

Hopefully! I think some of the major changes expected will be a newer case for thinner design, LED backlit screens, Blu-ray drive, and Multi-Touch track pads. Hopefully the units get enough "processing power" at a decent price.

I just need a new laptop as my Dell is starting to show its age, so this timing is quite right. As long as it can handle Post Processing (Capture NX2, Photoshop) and the 'to be released' Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, I'll be quite happy.

Additionally, I'm waiting until PMA March 09 for another 70-200 VR. If its not out by then, I'll think about getting the current one.
