View Full Version : Holy crap...is this for real!

I have never had anything happen like this in my life!

I get photos put in the paper twice in the same week!

I get asked to apply for a freelance position!

I get asked to photograph wine bottles for a winery...which they loved!

Now they are flying me to California the 11-19th to photograph their Vinyard and the buildings and all kinds of stuff and paying me $5,000 to do it!

I just want to share my fortune with a crowd that can appreciate it. Never did I think that someone would be paying me to take pictures for them. Not on this scale anyways. Now I have the opportunity to do this. I feel like things could not go any better right now! Almost too good to be true!

Alright mate, you're pushin your luck 'round these parts.

Congrats - that's an awesome opportunity. I'd be like, D700, add to cart, 24-70 F2.8, add to cart and spend the rest on SB-800s and light stands.

If I didn't have a trip to Italy to save for, I could blow 5K in a heartbeat! I think I am going to buy an SB-600 to take over there with me.

Wow. Congratulations.

So which pictures got you all those gigs? Have we seen them on the PoD thread? Wait, have you been holding out on us, only putting the ones you were going to delete on this forum, but are really pumping out some stuff that makes HCB and Ansel Adams look like amateurs? ;)

Wow, that is fantastic. We can all say we knew you when.

Don't they know how poor a D40 camera is:),

Well I am actually considering a sb800. I wont have any issues running that with the D40?

Thanks for the compliments. Mostly I get the comment, "you have an eye for this." Pretty much, taking pictures is the one thing I enjoy the most in the world. I keep my camera with me 24/7 everywhere I go. I am so stoked on getting hired for my firt/secondish time.

I cant wait to upgrade to a different camera, but for now the D40 is what I got.

gsusmaniac, HUGE congrats! I do have to say you take the most awesome pictures. From the first pictures you posted when you got the D40, I thought you were a professional. Congrats again.
