View Full Version : D70 internal flash issue

I'm new to here, but I need immediate assistance. I have both a D80 and D70. At the moment, I am having problems w/ my D70's internal flash. It'll flip up via auto setting, but the flash doesn't ever light up. Any thoughts? Even under shutter, aperature, etc settings, it doesn't ever light up. Please help!

I used to have this camera. Do you see any light at all or is it just very low? if it is very low, the flash could be set as commander instead of TTL. I might be wrong but it is a guess.

There is absolutely no flash at all. It pops up assuming that a flash is required via AUTO setting (for example), and you click away and only the lens does the work; the flash doesn't flicker on nor does it even dim. FYI!

Have you tried other modes as well? Also, the picture that you took. Does the exif info show whether the flash was fired? Anyhow, I am not sure. I hope it is not broken.

Can the D70 act as commander for wireless flashes like the D80? I'm not sure when this feature was introduced, but on the D80 you can set it to set off only the wireless flash units and not fire the main flash itself.

Happens to me occasionally where the bill of my hat inadvertently slightly depresses the flash. This will stop the flash from firing as well.
