Hey all,

I took these the other night after my previous post. First time doing fireworks with a dslr (only used a toy p+s before) - so be gentle lol. There's a couple of the Abbey itself too.

now i thought the website wudda shrunk them down a bit so any tips wioth posting photos would be appreciated too.

top photo = 1 bottom = 4

1 - f/4.5, exposure time: 30 sec, 70mm
2 - f/16, 1.1 sec, 18mm
3 - as above but 1.4 sec
4 - as above but 1.1 sec

You so need to resize those for the web, please. I can only see the left hand corner.

You need to use a computer program to resize the pictures. Google's free Picasa will do it, among others. Resize them to around 25%, or 800 pixels wide max.

When you're "resizing" use the "maintain aspect ratio" option too so height and width reduce proportionally.

Nice photos but when you're editing them I'd crop them a little so the subject fills the frame aesthetically.
The fireworks are nice and sharp so you've got enough pixels.

It's a preference thing so everyone's going to feel different about it but this is my preference.

One other reason to resize apart from the obvious they're easier to view is to maintain control of your intellectual property.
