ok I had an offer to trade someone my D40 body for their D200 body plus $500 dollars. The D200 has 23k clicks on it which seems like a ton. He said pro bodies are rated for 150k clicks. I'm not sure if this is a good deal, cause i was gonna sell my D40 with lens for $375 to someone else then just buy a used D200 with only 85 clicks on it for $900 off someone else i know, which would be about the same price difference, but then i would have to buy another kit lens. Any advice?

Okay so what is the value of a used kit lens? Lets say $100.
Using that measure you are getting $275 for the D40 body with the second sale plus you will be outlaying $500 for the D200 body so is a 23k D200 body worth the equivalent of $775.00 to you?

I dont know if 23k clicks is worth anything, thats what i'm asking, or is that really not many clicks for a pro body camera?

I wouldn't be too worried about 23k clicks provided the camera has been reasonably well looked after and not abused. anco85 purchased a D80 with 20k clicks and he is very happy. My D50 is very close to 20k clicks, hasn't been babied by any means and is working perfectly.

Yep, 21k clicks on my D80 and I'm happy. Camera still seems to be functioning like normal.

Just make sure the camera has been taken well care of. Sending it in for a service upon purchase also isn't a bad idea.

i second this, better wait for D90 which might also include CMOS sensor as opposed to CCD on D200...

And a brand new D200 is $999.00 now so it doen't seem like its worth it.

I haven't see anything about the D90 being released yet. Where is the info and specs on that? I'm debating about the D300 but if the D90 would be close to it and cheaper.....
