i just got this lense its pretty sweet except for something i noticed. i took an indoor picture of a rose it turned out good except the edges on the unfocused parts of the rose have almost a overexposed look. is that supposed to happen?

the lense is sweet just have to figure out how to use it i guess. it likes to over expose when i put it on the 0 on the meter. maybe its the D40 sense i don't know but here is how it looked after i post processed it. before the back edges were blown out in color. when i under exposed the picture in camera it made it too dark.

not sure of the exif does anyone know how to preserve it in Lightroom?

Set your exposure compensation to -0.7 ;) you should be ok. There was another thread that talked about this issue recently. And at 1.8 the 50mm is going to have a really shallow DOF.

Read this thread it will give you more insight.

Here's the thread link:D80 Exposures (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34305)
