I just got my D80 today. All the pics were taken with the 18-135mm lens and full auto settings... I have not taken the pics into PS either... I am very very impressed with the camera so far and can;t wait to play with it more.

Congrats on the purchase of the D80,
You may want to invest to an addtional flash to cut
down the doggie red-eye.:rolleyes:

Yes Congrats! You will have a lot of fun with it. I do with mine. If you can aquire a 18 - 200 Nikkor VR then you will have an awesome picture taking machine combo:)

tough subjects to photo...black dogs are very difficult to even focus on let alone expose correctly ! glad you are happy. switch to Ap mode as soon as you can, your results will be much better. the only DSLR i have seen that seems to consistently work well in green mode is the d40.

congrats on the cam and look forward to seeing more photos. :)
