Hey guys!

I am developing some new features into my software to streamline image acquisition. So - I thought I would ask you guys a quick question. If you could take the time, please let me know what your Volume Label is when you have your card in a reader. I am not sure if it is different when you have it plugged into a camera, but I am not concerned with that. Really just want to know how your OS shows the card.

Windows Users...
Right-Click on "Start"
Click - "Explore" (from short menu)
In the left pane, select "My Computer"
You should see something like "Nikon D70S (G: )"
Please let me know what that volume label is (for D200, D40, D50, etc)

ALSO:
If you select that drive, you should see "DCIM" folder. IF you DON'T see that in the root of the drive, please let me know. After that, would be a folder that would indicate something _like_ "100ND70S" This doesn't really matter as much, since I will be checking sub-folders of DCIM and recursing through them.

My software is going to search for Nikon formatted cards, and import files from the card...

ok...

I know... This seems trivial... But hey, it can't take too much time to post right?

I can simplify it - really just need to know for sure whether any Nikon doesn't format a card with "NIKON" in the Volume name.

I have programmed around everything else, I am just trying to ensure that I don't pull in images that I am not intending to pull in - for instance a different - type of card - not used by a Nikon camera.

Thanks in advance.

Nikon D80 (F: ) > DCIM > 100ND80

In Nikon D80 folder I also have a NIKON001.DSC file. What is that?

Great! Thanks Guys...

Kellie, I am not sure what that file is. I tried to do some searching, but here at work, I can't get through the firewall to too many places - especially forums where this gets discussed most.
