Can you please help me decide which one to buy?

My first priority is taking portraits of my children (often in low light). However, I will also need this camera to take decent group pictures at family gatherings (both indoors and out).

Is the image quality of the A630 that much better, that it should be worth trading off the Image stabilization, Face Recognition, Red-eye correction and smaller size of the A570?

If you blow up larger photos, don't mind a heavier carry + batts, and perhaps some post processing work, then the 630's slightly better image quality might be worth it. However, if you are a simple point and shoot person that usually prints around 5x7 or smaller, then the 570 should prove to be an easier, more versatile camera.

It's hard to say. Check the photo galleries in the reviews here. Does the swivel LCD matter to you?
