I'm trying to figure out what is best for my needs. I'm losing the battle. I'm not camera savvy enough to know exactly what all the features mean. I want what some of the ones I listed below offer but I don't think I can get them all in the same camera. That leaves me confused about what are the more important features......arrrrggggghhhh

8+

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
10
Do you care for manual controls?
i'm not against them

Are there particular models you already have in mind?

?Sony DSC-T100
but I'm certainly not limited to these

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)

That's a good list but don't forget Fuji F30/F40.
