View Full Version : Inkless Printing (Zink)

Hello... for my first post, I bring a gift of interesting info I just found online. I did a search but found nothing on this (sorry if I missed it).

It appears the folks at Polaroid have come up with a new way to make photos without ink. A new, spin-off company called Zink (Zero Ink) has come up with a way to embed color crytals in their paper, and use a heating element in their "printer" to activated the crystals, thereby making the print. Initially, it appears to be only a small format option, but it could be an interesting idea if the picture quality is any good and they can get the price down to under 20-cents for a 4x6 print.
