View Full Version : Sony DSCP100 Vs. Canon PowerShot S410/500

I've been researching for such a long time and I'd really like to know what other people think of these cameras. I want a compact camera with good photo quality.

I have access to a V1 (not mine) and enjoy the ease of use. I'm swayed to get the P100 but I haven't heard much about it. I like the scene mode features and different colour choices for the exterior (silver, red, blue). Plus it's nice to be able to walk into a Sony Store if I have any problems.

I've heard great things about the S410/500, ie. photo quality. Plus Jeff recommends this camera in the faq.

What should the verdict be?

I own the s410, takes beautiful pics but not much control on a scale of 1-10 i would give it a 9 for point and shoot

If you want to really enjoy you need a camera with manual controls, like the Canon "A" series (A70 A75 A80 A85). I have the A75 and I'm very satisfied, on www.zoodany.it you can see some of my pics..

Bye.. :)
