Does anyone shoot Black and white with a canon digital SLR. If so would you mind answering a few really simple questions.

1/Following a previous posting, another forum member has assured me that the EOS 350D does have a black and white mode. I have looked for this in the spec and manual, but its not explictly mentioned. I have noticed monochrome referred to instead. Is this just another way of saying black and white.

2/ once you have a black and white mode, how do you get a sepia mode? I haven't noticed any reference to it in the manual, but I wondered if it was just a case of adjusting the red, green and blue filters to get a sepia effect. If anyone has been able to do this, could you please broadly explain how.

As far as I know, the B/W mode just produces a B/W jpeg with a colour RAW file.

Personally, I'd shoot colour and comvert later.

Yes, the XT does have black and white mode. Go to the menu when in creative mode then under one of the tabs you will see "Parameters" near the bottom, which, by default, is at parameter 1. Change it to black and white, and there you go.
