hey guys.... is there an easy way to create a template so i can drag and drop different pictures in i figure it would be better than making a baseball/hockey card template where u would have to change the team logos and stuff...

What you want to do is look at modern magazines - ok?

Check out the text and how they format things. . .

I see you are on the right track but not there yet.

The easiest way to make yourself a template is to save a .psd file and have your text as one layer and a blank layer for your image. . . That way you can just open up your magazine template file and your image file and copy and past the image into the magazine template file and there you go. . . .

To get that classic magazine look you need large white letters at the top and what really sets it off is when you have part of the image overlap the magazine name - this is very simple to do . . . you just select the portion of the image with the marquee tool [be as sloppy as you want]copy it and then paste in on a new layer about the text layer then basically all you need to do is erase portions of that layer with the eraser tool until it looks good to you - for example; usually its just the subject that overlaps the name, not the entire background.
