which are the best fastest most reliable compact flashes (preferably in 1gb size).

40X is about as fast as the G6 can handle. But if you want to spend the extra money get an Ultra II or Extreme card. You only need one HS card for taking continuous mode shots so 512 should suffice. For normal day-to-day get a cheapo 512MB or even 1GB. In single shot mode HS cards make little sense.

They are all compatible with the G6. Sandisk, Kingston, PQI, etc.

i use the slowest 1GB Kingston card available and a 40X PQI card in my G6 and there is very little difference in speed. Even if you need to do a burst of shots the buffer in the G6 will allow 11 shots before its full and needs to write to the card.

The G6 isnt write accelerated so like George Riehm said a mega fast card makes little sense (unless its dirt cheap)
