Just trying to find the best indoor

I'm not sure if I completely understand what you're looking for help with -- maybe if you can post example pics or something?

In any case, I never use the Auto or Scene Mode settings. I'm just too uncomfortable with the camera taking control of things when I don't quite understand what it's doing. I use the PASM modes exclusively, and I know what it's trying to do in terms of exposure.

For outdoor shots, I tend to use either program or aperture modes.

For indoor, again program or aperture, but if the lighting necessitates it, an ISO of 400.

I will attach some pics
I just noticed on auto mode -excessive noisey pics
but in P -AE mode(iso 50 - everthing else standard ) they seemed much clearer - inside pics

outdoors so far they look fine..

does this make sense ???

Right. Like I said -- I hate AUTO mode and the scene modes -- they do some crazy stuff with the ISO. Most likely, when shooting indoors, it ramps up the ISO to something like 200 or maybe even 400.

With an ISO of 50 with enough light, that should be the most clear picture.
