View Full Version : Sanning Mounted 35mm Slides

There seems to be a wealth of scanner experience out there so I hope that someone can help me out here. I have a Canon Canoscan LiDE 80 flatbed scanner which I purchased some time ago with the hope of scanning my extensive archive of 35mm slides. I was disappointed to find out that this particular scanner does only 35mm slide strips and cannot do mounted slides. Is anyone aware of an adaptor or accessory that will allow me to scan mounted 35 mm slides on this little scanner?

From what I found on the web, it appears your scanner does not support the scanning of mounted slides. You now have some choices to make.

1) Buy a new flatbed scanner with transparency adapter for mounted slides
2) Buy a dedicated film scanner (Better quality scans than a flatbed)
3) Take them to a professional to be scanned (may be easier for you if you have a lot of slides)

Good luck.
