I planned on purchasing this tripod to use for my photography shoots with my D50. Any thoughts on this tripod? Is it good? Any other suggestions I should look at? Thanks for the help!

Hey,

I have the 3011's big brother, the 3221WN and it's a great tripod. Sturdy and durable, so I can safely say the 3011 will serve you very well. Just be careful about which head you choose. The one included in that kit is a pan-tilt, but there are others. It's a personal decision so you should probably try them out in person to see which fits your shooting style. I chose a ball head for the full range of movement with one lever to tighten because for landscapes it was the best choice. Hope all of this helps.
