View Full Version : D50 & indoor basketball photo's

I have adjusted the speed to 1/500 and was using the lowest f number for the aperture but the photo's were too dark in S-mode. I used the pop up flash and this helped but I can shoot very fast in a burst mode nor will the shutter speed adjust faster. Does this sound correct in the function of the D50?

By the way, with the flash I was able to get decent photo's but without it they are too dark. Is there a better setup?

You fail to mention what kind of lens you have, and what ISO you used. Setting the aperture and then letting the camera select the appropriate shutter speed (Av mode) will stop your photos from being too dark. If the shutter speed then is too slow for caputuring what you want to shoot, then up the ISO.

When I use the Aperture mode the motion shots are blurred.

So I am compromising with shutter speed and Aperture. Seems flash was the only thing to help the photo but I lost some speed in ability to shoot in burst mode.
