I took this shot last night and I am very satisfied with it. The composition is good, and everything is in focus. Given that I'm using the Rebel XT and kit lense, I'm very happy. I used a high aperature (f22) and exposed this for about 60 seconds. The water surprised me, as it gave off a soft but defineable reflection. I also feel that the balance is nice, with the bottom ice balancing the bridge.

Here is the deal: I like the lights having the "starry" look to them. But I don't want all of my night shots to have this look to the lights. Is there a filter that I can get to stop this?

Here she is:

I could be wrong, but I recall reading many, many years ago that a small aperture is apt to give the stare effect. You might try using f8 or larger and see if that will help.
