Hi guys.
Im looking for a grip to my D70, just to add some bulk. I dont want to spend much money on it, buying the top ones, like VG-D70 from Harbortronics. So,after some research, i saw some grips on Ebay, for half the price.

Id like to know if these grips are good (considering the price). Oh,...i dont intent to use it often for taking some portraits.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks, Ghiggi

For what they are, $89 seems pretty reasonable. Let us know how you like it.

Thanks. I wonder if they are using infrared fiber optics for the vertical shutter release.

hi there!

all of the grips on Ebay are the same, not the same as VG-D70 but
the same as all other Ebay grips. Also the same as www.hoodmanusa.com
and also the same as http://www.hkjenis.com/English/HOLD/professional/JND70P.htm

I have a sample at my home for review.. the unit itself feels pretty good,
but the batterydoor feels too plastic, the edge of the batterydoor towards
the bottom of the grip is a little bit sharp.. it also sounds pretty plastic when
you feel over it..

it's however only the batterydoor that really feels plastic, if they change that
I think that the grip will feel great.

also the tripod mount is just a small metal piece and the rest is all plastic...
I don't know how much you should count on that the batterygrip actually can hold your camera if you mount a large lens on a tripod ;)

Thanks for the mini-review, and the caution about the tripod mount. Fortunately, most really heavy lenses have their own mount.

ahh that of course, didn't think about that ;)
perhaps because I don't have any giant lens myself :p hehe

well, otherwise... the camera looks good, feels good in both positions...
I just love it ;)

I'm will also get a harbortronics next week to test that one also...
compare it and so... I let you know of the review when I have the unit ;)
