Which should I buy? I need to decide fast because the price is only on for 1 or 2 more days.

Transcend 80X 512 SD - $64.20cdn with tax.

or

Sandisk Ultra II SD - $95cdn with tax.

Both new.

The thing I want to ask is, I know $30 more, duh who wouldnt go for it...but do I really need it? Im not a heavy user at all. I usually take my pics off the cam daily without filling up the cards. But also, if a deal comes along that is too good to pass up - I must jump on it. But, however I have a friend who has the exact same Transcend 512, and though it claims 80X...he only transfers at 2.25MB/sec using a USB 2.0 CR. WTF? He tried changing the card for another transcend and same thing. So whats up with that BS? False advertising?

Btw, I like high speed cause of the fast transfer rates. And I posted in this forum cause its the busiest. But Ive also heard some compatibility issues with the Ultra II 1gig and CR's.

Transfer speed from the card is limited by the method you use to connect it to the computer. USB cables tend to be slower than card readers built into the computer. Why are you looking at high speed when you aren't using a DSLR?

Where are you getting these prices from? If you go to B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) you can get a 512 SD Ultra II for $55.00 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=311831&is=REG&addedTroughType=search) or for $60.00 from JR Music World (http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3954300)(www.jr.com) . Both are very reputable companies.

Well my SD200 doesnt seem to like standard sandisk or toshibas cuz it claims its too slow for video.

Mine you, im using USB 2.0 card reader in my laptop for the cards. Ultra II it was 10mb/sec transfering, but the 80x transcend, only 2.5MB/sec. whats up with that? How can I be sure my CR is 2.0? Im guessing transcned dont like my card reader.

I've never heard of Transcend, and would therefore not get it. All of my CF cards are either Lexar or Sandisk and have never had a problem with any of them. I have never used any SD cards. That being said, I would go with your Sandisk option.

Don't bump your topics, that's against forum rules. Also, please be sure to post in the right forum, as I had to move this to Memory Cards. Thanks.
