I have an Minolta Dimage V digital camera with only one small memory card RM-2 s. I have read they made a RM-4 s, can a person get one of these?
Is there any replacement cards, or a cross reference for a newer larger version that will work in my camera?

Thank you in advance, ebrown

With Smart Media you were nearly always limited to the maximum size avaiable at the time the camera was built. Your Dimage seems to be stuck with the much less common 5v standard which died an early death at 4MB or 8MB (near as I can remember). The 3.3v standard went on to max out at 128MB; although this was not without a lot of incompatability at many of the size jumps.

The Smart Media Group (http://www.ssfdc.or.jp/english) has more general info including this bit on how to tell 3.3v from 5v cards " When the golden terminal on the card is faced upward, the 5V card has a notch on its upper left, while the 3.3V type has one on its upper right."

I found Synchrotech (http://www.synchrotech.com/support/xlst-index.html) support has a huge chart on memory compatibility for even very old cameras. It lists yours as maxing out at 4MB.

I will be looking for an old RM-4s or RM-2s if some one has an extra card.

Thanks again, ebrown
