There is a FREE tool online that I used when my daughter ERASED her snow photos (it doesn't snow here very often at all). I was sick over it, but it recovered most of them. You can do a search on Google and I'll look right now. It's unreal some of the free programs that there are.

Now, that card was fine. SHE had erased them. If the card has a formatting problem that might be trouble. But, it can't hurt to try that program. The one "white Christmas" we have and she accidentally erased almost everything.

Lordy, I'm not sure which one it is. Search for "free image recovery tool" or something along those lines. Some let you see what could be saved, but you must then BUY the program to save them. The one I used was completely free and a lifesaver. I already see some, but none ring a bell for sure.

I must say I was stunned that there was a completely free program...as I was torn as to how bad I'd want to recover them and my wife was acting like I should give in and pay. I do recall there weren't many to choose from once you read the "fine print." Maybe that was only one or two. When those images started showing up I about boo-hoo'ed.

You can try this http://www.z-a-recovery.com/digital-image-recovery.htm . It is free and worked for me, but not everybody.

Good Luck,
Steve

I saved that program on a CD-RW. It was "Smart Recovery."

I agree, most programs out there either do not work or really are not free as they claim. I lost some images from a once in a lifetime trip to the Islands in Asia. My problem was that the SD card was bent by placing it in an airport scanning machine, the images were damaged due to the card malfunctioning.

I did find a service that was able to use advanced image recovery techniques to recover the data.

If any unfortunate sole is looking for ways to recover extremely damaged cards or just a basic recovery try using this service for digital image recovery (http://www.eprovided.com).

I was really happy to have my images back, and with a card split in two this was a blessing, I thought I had no chance in recovering my lost photos.
