View Full Version : Backpacking.. Slim case for ist DS

Hi - I am getting ready to take a trip to Italy and will probably be bringing a DS with me on the trip. I'm a little nervous about taking this camera backpacking with me - even though it is really pretty compact for a dSLR it's still got some bulk that I'll be dealing with for 3 weeks.

I'd like to find a case that is just large enough to protect the camera that can be worn around my neck -- i've seen several where you can drop the body with lens mounted right in, but the thickness and size of the case is way too big. I'd like to find something that is just slightly larger than the camera itself, to offer just a bit of protection when it's not in my backpack (should it get bumped in to something by accident). Think "camera glove." Any ideas/suggestions?

Secondly (I've asked this before but always looking for advice) should I forget about bringing the DS and just bring something a lot smaller like a Digital ELPH? Backpacking across Italy, 3 weeks, staying mostly in hostels. Thanks!!

Can I suggest something from the LowePro range possibly the Nova Micro AW.

Either way, they have an extensive range with something that's bound to suit.
