I am new to the forum, new to Canon products and need your help on my purchase between A80 & A95. I dislike A80 because the LCD screen is on the small size. I dislike A95 because of purple fringing. My question is A80 a better camera in terms of photo quality ?? I am not too concerned with the extra megapixels on A95 since most of my photos have to be email friendly...
lower resolutions. Thank you as I look forward to all your cmmts.

Query

The difficulty with the A80 is availability. For the money, the A95 isn't that much more (say $10-20 more?). And I don't know if the purple fringing is much worse on the A95 than it is on the A80. And alot can be done with F and different night filters. I don't know if the extra 1MP is worth it, but I know the bigger LCD is (to me, a tad more than a 1/4" is a big deal on a small screen like that). As far as I can tell, with regards to purple frigning, there's not much difference between them at similar ISO and F-number.

A80 @ F4.5 (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_a80-review/nightshot2.jpg)

I just recently got an A95 and am thoroughly enjoying it so far. I will post more shots later when I get a chance to do some night shots with it.

Hi Homer,
Thanks for your reply. I believe both cameras are equally good since their specs are very similar in many ways. Few days ago, I managed to find an A80 with Made in Japan sticker. So...I bought it and very happy with my decision. Now, I just to have some time to have fun with it.
