at best, for the cameras i was looking at, 10% off bestbuy's normal price brought it down to the same price as bhphotovideo or j&r or amazon

Where is "R&J"?????

The H1 I am looking at is $500.00 at amazon, BHphotovideo, BestBuy, etc, any reputable dealer. Of course, my state has 9.75% sales tax, so it would basically pay sales tax for me, but then I also have $50 in best buy gift cards I have been saving for 6 months.

I plan to go haggle with a BestBuy sales clerk (they work on commision) to try to get to around $450 or so +tax. If not, I can always buy it later full price.

There was a thead on the ST Forum on dpreview about haggling. I'm going to give it a try when I get ready to buy.

it's J&R not R&J ... they're a huge electronics store in New York and have a website at www.jr.com
