Macro/Micro Photography-How to set up??

I have stacked my FZ20 with a reversed Minolta 50mm lens. Takes great shots. But because of the very shallow depth of field I have to set the camera precisely to generate a focused picture.
I need to know how to setup the camera. I jury-rig the setup but am very unhappy the inability to adjust the camera.

How do you do it?

MY SETUP:
Have camera on a tripod adapter I made.
My wired remote shutter control.
Walmart 7VDC power supply.
Gutted florescent lamp for 360 degree lighting..
Phayee lens adapter
62/58 step down ring
m58/m58 macro ring
My 50mm lens from my Minolta SRT 102
Aluminum foil reflector is usually around lamp bulb

I'll have to post the pictures from this setup.
