Nikon finally takes a page out of Canon's book, but it's the wrong page...!

"Take a cheap DSLR, and make sure it looks cheap by painting it silver..."

Yah, I have no idea why Nikon would use hideous silver. They must really be exchanging "choice words" with Canon by doing this. Of all comapnies, I thought Nikon would know better than to do something silly like this.

Actually the silver body is pretty popular outside of the US...

Default We have images now but do we have...

Do we have any idea of what the prices for these two cameras may be yet? The end of the month can't get here quick enough. D70s higher than the current D70? and the D50 around the price of the Canon 300D ???

I almost know for certain that the D70s will be the same price as the D70 right now.

The D50? No clue. I'm guessing something like $700/$800.

I remember the days when no self-respecting SLR user would be caught dead with a silver body! Wait, it's still those days, right?

I guess the low-end Nikon and Canons need to appeal to some silly fashion sense, hence the silver. I'm just surprised Nikon is caving on this. They seem hell-bent on being content to follow, not lead...
