Did you mean FD?
Canon's older non auto-focus mounts were FD mounts. The newer auto-focus mounts are EF mounts. Recently Canon has introduced a new EF-S mount that is backward compatible with EF lenses, but the EF-S lenses can only fit cameras with EF-S mounts.
The EF 24-70 f/2.8L seemed to have some initial problems with QC on introduction, it seems to have gotten better, but they did have some start up problems.
The older EF 28-70 f/2.8L is widely regarded as one of the sharpest middle zooms made.
I don't really know if Canon made an FD 28-70 f/2.8L, I don't think they did.
